It has been a busy year for Obsesh athlete and professional volleyball player Max Senica. After securing a victory in the Volleyball Nations League against rival Iran, his team, the Volleyroos, are gearing up for a pivotal Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship in Japan. The last time the tournament was played in 2019, Australia came up short in the championship match against the host country, Iran.

The importance of this tournament can’t be understated for the Volleyroos. The winner of the tournament, as well as the runner up, qualify for the next edition of the World Championships, which will take place in Russia next August and September. For Max, he’s looking to add on more experience to his already growing career with the Volleyroos.

Australia was placed in Pool C with China, Kuwait, and Uzbekistan. China will be the toughest matchup on paper for the Volleyroos, as the country is ranked one spot ahead of them in the world rankings. Pool play will kick off for the Volleyroos on Sunday September 12 with a match against Uzbekistan.
