Now Available and active on Obsesh platform is 2x U.S. Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Player Dana Mathewson, Team USA Member and Gold Medalist in Wheelchair Basketball, Ryan Neiswender, and 2x Paralympian and Para-Triathlete Mohamed Lahna

Obsesh, the premier online sports marketplace for receiving personalized sports and fitness tips, coaching and advice, has just partnered with the Dromos Agency to provide a place for adaptive athletes to monetize their talent and connect with fans across the globe. Obsesh is proud to welcome paralympians Dana Mathewson and Ryan Neiswender to their growing roster of talented adaptive athletes.

Mathewson, the top women’s wheelchair tennis player in the United States, was distraught at age 10 when she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. It was her mother that helped her find her passion for tennis, and that’s a passion that has yet to subside. Matthewson made it to the quarter finals of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in the singles event, but was eliminated by eventual bronze medalist Jordanne Whiley. More recently, she advanced to the quarter finals of the 2021 US Open, and is currently ranked eighth in the world.

A diagnosis of Arthrogryposis did not stop Neiswender, who everyone knew was on a path to greatness after he was selected as a member of the USA men’s national wheelchair basketball team as a senior in high school. Neiswender was a four-time All-American at the University of Illinois-Champagne, and used that experience to help Team USA capture a gold medal in wheelchair basketball at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Neiswender scored six points and snagged four boards during an opening round game against Algeria.

“My personal goal is to use my platform to both help people with disabilities achieve success and to help families understand how they can help get a child with a disability into a sport like wheelchair basketball. By eliminating the unknowns around costs, gear, etc., I could help a family take that leap and change someone’s life forever.”

Mathewson and Neiswender are the first adaptive athletes to join the Obsesh roster, and they will be able to provide valuable coaching to other adaptive athletes around the world. By making it easier to connect with veteran adaptive athletes like Mathewson and Neiswender, Obsesh will bring a new way to access specialized coaching for youth adaptive athletes who might not otherwise have the opportunity to.

 

In addition to Mathewson and Neiswender, Mohamed Lahna will be joining the Obsesh platform. Lahna, a para-triathlete, 2x paralympian, and Bronze Medalist, is the first physically challenged athlete to finish the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon.
