Announcement: Obsesh creates innovative NIL alliance platform for top NY Metro High School teamss

Elite High School Basketball Programs Our Saviour Lutheran Athletics, New York Lightning, and New Heights Lightning Unveil Innovative NIL Platform ‘Protect the Nest’

Utilizing the strength of premier basketball entities at the high school, Grassroots, Nike EYBL, and Overtime Elite stages, athletes will become one cohort of more than 120 players to secure access to premier brand partnerships, talent endorsements, as well as crucial personal brand development tools and business acumen required in the new NIL landscape.

A unique collaboration has been announced by Our Saviour Lutheran Athletics (OSL), the New York Lightning (NYL), and the New Heights Lightning. These leaders in the elite high school basketball scene are joining forces off the court to launch an innovative Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) platform for their athletes and teams.

Working exclusively with Obsesh to develop the NIL platform, strategy, marketing, and opportunities, the all-new innovative brand platform seeks to create opportunities for the alliance and its players through sponsorships, talent endorsements, and various other marketing agreements. Players will also benefit from unparalleled tools for personal brand development and instruction, in addition to financial planning and contract education—vital for the evolving NIL era. This groundbreaking alliance intends to solidify these preeminent prep and grassroots basketball brands as the dominant force in high school basketball across the nation, by offering a holistic NIL platform that optimizes opportunities for their players and programs.

The New York Lightning and New Heights Lightning, competitors in the distinguished Nike’s EYBL Circuit—arguably the top high school showcase program nationwide—continue to be a top contender in the Peach Jam again this year July 3-9th in Atlanta. This championship tournament, one of high school basketball’s biggest events, further spotlights their star players, including the country’s #1 point guard and five-star UNC commit, Elliot Cadeau, four-star point guard and Auburn commit Tahaad Pettiford, and four-star small forward Jahki Howard, best known as EYBL’s top backcourt in the country. Alumni talents include the likes of Zakai Ziegler and Tobe Awaka from the University of Tennessee, Jaylen Blakes now at Duke University, Akil Watson now at Arizona State University, and Jahmere Tripp of Fordham University.

Our Saviour Lutheran prep school, reigning champions of the 2022 Grind Session World, has been a dominant player in the elite NY Metro high school basketball scene. Our Saviour Lutheran National Falcons team members under Coach Pete’s leadership participate in the Overtime Elite Basketball League (OTE) and will continue to do so in 2023-2024.

Esteemed Head Coach Pete Wehye is steering this unique collaboration that amalgamates the top-rated New York high school basketball program, the highest-rated Nike EYBL League team from New York, and the elite grassroots AAU team. This partnership promises to redefine the NIL platform, offering an unparalleled pathway for brands and sponsors to tap into the next generation early in their elite career. Through this collaboration, companies will have direct engagement with some of the country’s most exceptional high school basketball talent, and scale opportunities through this collective team platform.

“Our goal extends beyond shaping outstanding basketball players to positively impacting lives,” said Coach Wehye, a leading advocate of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights for high school athletes. “Through our high school prep basketball and grassroots programs, we’ve consistently led the way in every era of basketball, aiming to create a brighter future for our athletes and their families. We champion our players’ rights to benefit from their own NIL, providing more paths to success athletically and personally, with the aim to create citizens that contribute to society, generate generational wealth, and break the cycle of poverty in our communities.”
