Kota Kicks it back home

Obsesh Pro Athlete Kotaro Umeda Kicks off donation to benefit Greater Cleveland

Kotaro Umeda’s Obseshion of soccer has led him to places like Portugal and Brazil, but he has not forgotten his roots.

That’s why from July 12-23, half of the proceeds from each experience booked with Kotaro will be donated to United Way of Greater Cleveland. For fans of The Beautiful Game this is an opportunity to not only receive top-level advice and training from a professional soccer player, but to also make a difference in the lives of the people of Cleveland, Ohio that rely on the services United Way of Greater Cleveland provides.

I have a love for both giving back to the community and the sport of soccer, so to be able to use soccer as a vehicle for good in the Cleveland community through my personal platform on Obsesh is an opportunity that I am extremely grateful for.
— Kotaro Umeda

Although Umeda currently plays for Joinville Esporte Clube in Brazil, the impact that he has in his home state of Ohio can’t be understated. The Mayfield Heights native has persevered to  publish his own book, I’m With You, and donated 100% of the proceeds to United Way of Greater Cleveland to combat racism and poverty in the Cleveland area.

Booking an experience with Umeda, who played collegiately at Akron and Louisville, will give fans access to the inner workings of a professional soccer player. Fans can learn from Kotaro about soccer-specific skills like scoring or dribbling, but also will have access to learn about what exercises he does to stay in shape, what the diet of a professional soccer player looks like, and to receive inspiration for those always difficult team tryouts.

To follow Kotaro’s journey, follow him on Instagram. Support the Kickin’ it with Kota campaign, and book an experience with him today.
